Presentation
Compass-Behavioral Workshop
ON DEMAND | 180 MINUTES
Compass-Behavioral is a neuroaffirming, manualized coaching program that supports neurodivergent youth and adults in strengthening executive functioning, self-advocacy, social understanding, and overall wellbeing. This session will provide an overview of the Compass-Behavioral model—how participants collaboratively select goals, work directly with a trained Compass Coach, and build skills across core Elements such as self-management, vulnerabilities, and sleep. This session will also review results from our newly published analysis of 234 autistic participants, which found significant improvements across most Elements and strong themes of increased self-awareness, coping, autonomy, and wellness. Attendees will gain an understanding of how Compass-Behavioral works in real-world clinical settings and whether this flexible, person-centered approach may be relevant to their practice or research.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Objective 1:
After the session, participants will be able to identify and describe at least three core Elements of the Compass-Behavioral model (e.g., Self-Management, Vulnerabilities, Sleep), including the behavioral and motivational interviewing strategies used within each Element to support executive functioning and wellbeing.
Objective 2:
After the session, participants will be able to interpret Compass-Behavioral outcome data by summarizing at least two significant findings from the analysis of 234 autistic participants (e.g., improvements in Self-Advocacy, Vulnerabilities, Sleep, or themes from qualitative feedback) and explain how these results inform clinical decision-making when selecting or adapting Compass-B for clients
